Main content of Avatar 2: The Way of Water
While many details of Avatar: The Way of Water remain shrouded in secrecy, we know that this 2nd installment is set on the planet Pandora about 12 years after the first. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) has been living on Pandora for years since choosing to permanently transfer his human consciousness into the Avatar’s body and become the new leader of the Na’vi indigenous people. He and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) – a native Na’vi who is married and has children.
It all happens when the RDA’s colonial forces return to Pandora to revive mining operations, forcing Jake and Neytiri to take their families away from their beloved home. From here, they participate in a fierce battle for survival to protect their loved ones as well as their planet.
Unlike part 1, Avatar 2 will take viewers to explore the hidden part of Pandora and focus more on underwater life on this planet, inhabited by the Metkayina people. Metkayina is a group of Pandora natives living among coral reefs under the ocean, as well as the central community of the 2nd film.

The final film Avatar 5 is scheduled to be released in 2028, which is 19 years after the first Avatar came out. Although it may take longer than expected, director James Cameron said his team has already embarked on further films. Specifically, Avatar 2 and 3 were filmed simultaneously, on the other hand, some scenes in Avatar 4 are also underway.
